My Friend's Visit To My House

    October 18, 2005.

I was so happy with my house in Dekweneh, Beirut, because it saved me a lot of fuss going up and down to Zahle. Finally I got this house and I am working on making it a home. I just painted it with colors and it looked so great so that I decided to share my excitement with my friends at work.

After deciding on a date that suited all, I invited my friends to my house. An email would be sufficient in this case. We are used to it. Any comments should be sent by email too :)

The meeting time was 6:00 pm Lebanon time. But unfortunately, I had a meeting with the already bothering neighbors. I just don't know what they want now. And to my luck, they decided to meet the day I invited my friends. I already planned to cut the meeting before 6:00 pm, since it should begin at 5:00.

During the day, I had to go and do some shopping for the small party. As always, I do my things on the last minute. I got many stuff so that everyone would have shomthing to enjoy.

While in the neighbor's meeting, I was so on fire for it to end. But as expected, it won't end till it took 3 or 4 hours. Few minutes before 6:00pm, I appologised to the people and ran to my house. I didn't want anyone of my friends to come to my house and find no one there. To my luck, I found myself just behind my two of the first arrivals. I saw them half lost looking for my house. When they were totally lost, I just called them and pointed out my house, which was next to us.

I was praying that the electricity won't go out. Because it used to go out on 6. But luckily, it waited till 7pm. While I was going down the elivator with Philip, the electricit went out. The generator moves the elivator, but in my house, no generator electricity. So we got couple of candles and had a cozy candle light evening.

It was a day to remember.

    Shbanieh Picnic

It was real nice to hang out with the guys in the company. I was already stressed because of work and bothering clients so that I would need a holiday in Ivory Coast to have a relief. The idea to have a picnic at Shbaieh, Cynthia's village, was right in time.

Although sunday I had to go to church in the morning, I did manage to go just in time. When I arrived, I saw my mates hanging around the barbeque and making a ceremony of "sheesh kabab". The coal was hell hot and the meat already half baken, and all was just right to start shooting my pictures an movie.

My mini DVD cam was so good to do the job. Although it can shoot 1/2 hour at a time, but it was more than enough to cover the important parts of the picnic. The place is nice and all shaded by the grand pine trees and cool air flowing just to give us a more pleasant stay.

I can hide behind my camera and give a sudden shoot to unexpecting victims. Natural photos are much prefered than those showing people posing for the camera. But anyway, they are all nice and photogenic to me. Still pictures are more artistic, since anyone who sees them can imagine any setting going around before and after the shot was taking. But video records the actual scene, in addition to sound and character. That is why I do prefer to have both cameras with me.

My album on my computer is already full of pictures since 2002. I have posted my picnic photos in this weblog.
